On the off chance that I do come across a product that I love, am sure to tell he world about it. Todays feature product is …wait for it … “Classic Flapjacks – Gluten Free Pancake Mix” from Glutagon. It is:

  • Wheat Free
  • Gluten Free
  • Dairy Free
  • Yeast Free
  • Soy Free
  • Fibre Enriched
  • Pre-biotics
  • No Added Sugar

 

Preparation Options

     Original

  • 250 ml milk
  • 60 ml water
  • 3 large eggs

Dairy Free

  • 250 ml rice / soya milk
  • 60 ml water
  • 3 large eggs

Buttermilk

  • 400 ml Buttermilk
  • 3 large eggs

 

Method

  1. Select your preferred option
  2. Add contents of paacket to wet ingredients and mix with electric mixer for 1 minute to a smooth batter
  3. Pour approximately 60 ml batter into a lightly greased non-stick frying pan, on a medium heat
  4. Cook for 60-90 seconds on either side or untill golden brown.

Tip – I add 5 ml vanilla essence and a teaspoon of honey to the mixture before mixing.  The taste is not pronounced but just oh-so nice! Oh and I find that 90 seconds per side is just enough to have them turn golden brown.

Serve with fresh cut fruit and honey or maple syrup or good old fashioned cinnamon and sugar.
